My journey into finance and investing started back in 1998. I was 14. I had spent the last year working my first job delivering newspapers to a hundred or so houses in the Northland Kansas City neighborhood I spent much of my childhood in. My father, a local restauranteur, had decided that I had shown enough responsibility with that to come and work for him at the restaurant on weekends. Not only did he teach me how to operate a successful business, building the bedrock of my financial knowledge, but he also taught me how important it was to save and invest a portion of what I made. The lessons I learned at that early age would shape my personal and professional career over the next two decades.
I currently hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Personal Financial Planning from Kansas State University, and I am a Certified Financial Planner ™. I also hold the Certified Investment Management Analyst® designation, having completed my Executive Education requirement through Yale School of Management.
When I am not working, I am hanging out with my wife and three kids. We love to watch movies, try new restaurants, and host cookouts with extended family and friends at our house. In my spare time, I like to read, listen to podcasts, and watch sports.
